Training.Induction.Letter of Competency

The letter of competency provided by the employer of a contractor must include the following:

  • the name of the person deemed competent,
  • the name of the employing company,
  • the basis on which the person is deemed competent,
  • the time employed by the company,
  • the time the person deemed competent has performed the skill (overall time in the field/industry)
  • the name, position and signature of the person writing the letter on behalf of company (Company Directors/Owners may sign their own letters of competency)

Note: Where the role/occupation on the LOC is listed as "inexperienced mine worker/operator". The company must state, "We deem him/her competent to perform inexperienced operator duties and will provide the necessary training to perform the role safely".

  • Date on letter must be no older than 3 months prior to the date of data application submission
  • Issue date to be recorded in Onsite
  • Expiry date to be 3 years from Issue date
