Generic.Letter of Competency
Business rule last updated by WHC 7/4/20 | The letter of competency provided by the employer of a contractor must include the following: - the name of the person deemed competent,
- the name of the employing company,
- the basis on which the person is deemed competent,
- the time employed by the company,
- the time the person deemed competent has performed the skill,
- the name, position and signature of the person writing the letter on behalf of company (Company Directors/Owners may sign their own letters of competency)
Note: Where the role/occupation on the LOC is listed as "inexperienced mine worker/operator". The company must state, "We deem him/her competent to perform inexperienced operator duties and will provide the necessary training to perform the role safely".
