CPR & First Aid Training

OSHA Reference: General Industry 29 CFR 1910.151

(a)The employer shall ensure the ready availability of personnel for advice and consultation on matters of plant health. (b) In the absence of an infirmary, clinic, or hospital in near proximity to the workplace which is used for the treatment of all injured employees, a person or persons shall be adequately trained to render first aid. Adequate first aid supplies shall be readily available. (b)

(c) In the absence of an infirmary, clinic, hospital, or physician, that is reasonably accessible in terms of time and distance to the worksite, which is available for the treatment of injured employees, a person who has a valid certificate in first-aid training from the U.S. Bureau of Mines, the American Red Cross, or equivalent training that can be verified by documentary evidence, shall be available at the worksite to render first aid.

NFPA 70E 110.2 Training Requirements

(C) Emergency Procedures. Employees exposed to shock hazards and those employees responsible for taking action in case of emergency shall be trained in methods of release of victims from contact with exposed energized electrical conductors or circuit parts.

Employees shall be regularly instructed in methods of first aid and emergency procedures, such as approved methods of resuscitation, if their duties warrant such training.

  • Applicant's name should be displayed on the evidence and should match the name registered in the system (however shortened versions of names such as 'Chris' for 'Christopher' is acceptable).

  • The training documentation uploaded should be current and within 6 months of expiration / renewal date.

  • Acceptable training documentation should include the following:

    • Subject/Topic of the Training

    • Instructor Name

    • Employee Name

    • Employee Signature

    • Date

  • Training documentation can be in the form of a:

    • Card or equivalent Certificate listing First Aid and/or CPR

    • Safety Meeting/Toolbox Talk

    • Refresher Training

  • Issue Date = Date of completion

  • Expiry Date = 24 months from the date of completion
