Additional Insurance

  • Business Name and ABN needs to match. If it does not match, government certified evidence must be provided to link the ABN or business names together. This is ideally a letter or download from ABR showing the linkage. 
  • We can accept ‘PTY LTD’ or ‘(Pty) Ltd’ in lieu of ‘Proprietary Limited’ when this is the only difference in the company name between what is shown on company compliance paperwork verse what’s shown in onsite                 
  • Insurance must be current

NOTE: If the policy is paid on a monthly basis, the document must show when the recent payment was made or when the next payment is due

  • Issue Date = Coverage start date listed on policy
  • Expiry Date = Coverage end date listed on policy (If the policy is paid monthly the expiry will be set when the next payment is due)

  • Policy Number or Certificate Number = as specified on the policy

Asbestos Liability Insurance

  • Minimum amount of $20 million dollars Australian for any one occurrence; Coverage amounts to be recorded.
  • If less than $20 million (AUD) the contractor must upload a copy of the Insurance Schedule from their contract.
    • When the policy states less than $20 million (AUD), the company will be prompted to upload their insurance schedule from their contract to the "Asbestos Liability Insurance - Less than $20Mil Insurance Schedule from your Zinfra or Jemena Contract" in the V3 Company Pre-Qual portal - this document must be processed before "Asbestos Liability Insurance - Less than $20Mil."
    • Pegasus staff will check to see if the lower amount has been approved in the contract and matches the certificate of currency uploaded. If the coverage amount HAS been approved by Zinfra Jemena staff by email, this can also be accepted.
  • If the policy amount is not in AUD and the policy is worldwide, a conversion at the time of processing is to be completed to ensure the non-AUD amount is equal to or greater than the $20 million AUD amount OR the lower amount that approved.
  • USD converted to AUD amount of greater than the $20 million is acceptable when the policy applies for work conducted in Australia
  • Insurance must be current

Income Protection Insurance


  • Insured Name must match that registered and ABN needs to match. If it doesn't match, government certified evidence must be provided to link the ABN and names together. This is ideally a letter or download from ABR showing the linkage;
  • We can accept ‘PTY LTD’ or ‘(Pty) Ltd’ in lieu of ‘Proprietary Limited’ when this is the only difference in the company name between what’s shown on company compliance paperwork verse what’s shown in onsite.
  • There is no minimum amount for Income Protection and the amount does not need to be recorded
  • Must be current
  • Must specify the state in which the certification has been uploaded for
  • Must specify Income Protection or Accident and Sickness

Motor Vehicle Insurance

  • Certificate of Insurance / Confirmation of Insurance / Certificate of Currency / Confirmation of Placement for Motor Vehicle Insurance showing:
    • Name of insurer
    • Policy Number

  • Company name and ABN must match the details registered*. If it doesn’t match, government certified evidence must be provided to link the ABN or business names together. This is ideally a letter or a download from ABR showing the linkage or a Trust Deed.
  • Slight business name variations can be accepted when the ABN matches and the name difference is only slight (eg. Pegasus Aust and Pegasus Australia)

NOTE: If the policy is paid on a monthly basis, the document must show when the recent payment was made or when the next payment is due

  • Minimum amount of $20 million (AUD) coverage ("Limit of Liability"; and "Limit of Indemnity") for list of accepted types please see list below.
  • If less than $20 million (AUD) the contractor must upload a copy of the Insurance Schedule from their contract.
    • When the policy states less than $20 million (AUD), the company will be prompted to upload their insurance schedule from their contract to the "Motor Vehicle Insurance - Less than $20Mil Insurance Schedule from your Zinfra or Jemena Contract" in the V3 Company Pre-Qual portal - this document must be processed before "Motor Vehicle Insurance - Less than $20Mil."

NOTE: The type of policy can be listed in the 'liability limit' section of the policy (e.g. under the class or description it may refer to a policy type that 'requires approval' however under the limit or interest insured section if it refers specifically to an accepted type listed above this would be deemed acceptable.

Plant & Equipment Insurance

  • “Certificate of Insurance” or "Confirmation of Insurance” or “Certificate of Currency” for Plant & Equipment showing:
    • Name of insurer
    • Policy Number
    • Expiry date
  • Company name and ABN must match the details registered. If it doesn’t match, government certified evidence must be provided to link the ABN or business names together. This is ideally a letter or a download from ABR showing the linkage or a Trust Deed.
  • Slight business name variations can be accepted when the ABN matches and the name difference is only slight (eg. Pegasus Aust and Pegasus Australia)
  • Must also include a schedule of items covered and how much they are insured for (usually in table format)
  • Must show plant / equipment or vehicle/s insured as defined by the policy or a reference to coverage for all vehicles similar to the examples shown below:
